Malls, multiplexes, restaurants to reopen at 50% capacity
Bhubaneswar: With the current partial lockdown set to end in the next 24 hours, the Odisha government announced on Saturday that a night curfew will be enforced across the state from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. in August.
Between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m., the stores will be open for business.
Pradeep Kumar Jena, Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Development Commissioner and Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), told the media that the weekend shutdown in Bhubaneswar, Puri, and Cuttack will continue throughout the month.
“In 27 districts, COVID-19 cases are essentially non-existent. Puri, Khurda, and Cuttack, on the other hand, continue to have a high graph. Despite this, he stated that the situation is not alarming.
In addition, the state government has chosen to reopen commercial malls and parks throughout the state.
“Cinema halls will reopen with a 50% capacity, while malls will be allowed to operate with a limited number of entrants,” says the statement. Beaches and parks will be open to the public,” the SRC stated.
He claims that restaurants and bars can run at 50% occupancy.
Public places like as Nandankanan Zoological Park and indoor water parks, according to Jena, will be allowed to reopen.
Buses will continue to operate throughout the state. “The authority to decide on the reopening of religious places like Jagannath Temple and Lingaraj Temple has been granted to district collectors,” he said.
All religious, political, and social meetings, as well as exhibits and commercial fairs, are, nevertheless, prohibited in the state.
Likewise, previous prohibitions on funerals and marriages will remain in place.
