Odisha CM Announces 25% Salary Hike For Employees Hired Through Outsourcing Contract
Bhubaneswar: As a Diwali present, chief minister Naveen Patnaik proposed a 25% raise in salary for the state government's outsourced and contractual staff on Wednesday.
The chief minister's incentive will benefit around 33,000 employees and cost the state exchequer Rs 100 crore every year. In addition to the pay raise, he has instructed the parent companies of these employees to allow them to take 12 days of vacation per year.
Naveen has also ordered that companies that do not give their fair portion to the employees' provident fund be prosecuted.
The chief minister has instructed the authorities to make a decision on maternity leave for pregnant women among such personnel as soon as possible because the issue remains unresolved.
