Odisha FC announces India's first strategic partnership with Brazilian club
Bhubaneswar: Odisha FC formed a strategic football and commercial relationship with Ava Futebol Clube of Brazil on Friday.
It's India's first collaboration with a Brazilian football team, and it's part of the OFC's Global Football Alliance strategy. Odisha FC inked a three-year contract with Watford FC of the English Premier League two months ago.
Ava Futebol Clube, based in Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, is over 100 years old and is known for its great academy, with several players going on to represent the national team.
Sharing technical knowledge, dealing with basic categories, training, and even player exchanges are all part of the collaboration. For the growth of football in Odisha, all professionals from Ava's technical committee and young divisions would be available.
Claudinei Oliveira, the head coach of Avai, has engaged in a video conference with the coaching staff of OFC, including the club's Spanish head coach Francisco 'Kiko' Ramrez González, who is located in Bhubaneswar. Odisha FC will benefit from Claudinei's expertise, skills, and ideas in their forthcoming ISL-8 season.
“We are ecstatic and honoured to announce our relationship with Ava Futebol Clube, a club steeped in history and tradition. "Our first cooperation in South America provides numerous opportunity for both clubs to learn from one another while also strengthening the link between the two nations," Odisha FC president Raj Athwal said.
“Avai FC, who presently plays in the Brazilian First Division, can help us with youth player development, the Odisha academy, and also deliver the finest in business and commercial strategies, which we'll create, build, and implement for the benefit of both the clubs and their respective states.”
