Bypoll to one Rajya Sabha seat from Odisha on June 13

Bhubaneswar: On June 13, a by-election to the Rajya Sabha seat from Odisha will be conducted. On Friday, the Election Commission of India (ECI) issued a notification in this regard.

The ECI indicated in its announcement that voting will take place on June 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with counting following at 5 p.m.

While making plans for the by-election, the ECI has directed the Odisha Chief Secretary to depute a senior officer from the state to ensure that the existing orders regarding COVID-19 containment measures are followed.

Subhash Chandra Singh resigned from the job after being elected Mayor of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) in March, leaving the seat vacant.
