In Odisha's capital, the number of dengue infections has surpassed 1k

Bhubaneswar: With the discovery of 38 new cases in the previous 24 hours, the dengue total in the Odisha capital has surpassed 1000.

The vector-borne sickness has infected 1,009 people since January 1, with 98 percent (997) of those cases recorded in the last 41 days.

In January, there were just three instances of dengue fever in the city, and two more in February. In March, three more cases were added to the afflicted list, followed by two more in April. In May, there were no cases, but in June, two people were confirmed to be afflicted. In July, 551 cases of dengue fever were discovered, bringing the total number of cases to 563.

There were 446 new dengue patients in the last ten days of August.

This is nearly double the number of dengue cases reported in Odisha in 2020 (496)

706 patients have been cured, according to the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Niladri Vihar has had the most cases reported. He, on the other hand, denied media allegations that two people, one of whom was a youngster, had died of dengue fever.

According to the BMC official, 32813 breeding sites have been eliminated so far, including 32487 containing larvae. To stop the spread of the disease, fogging and anti-larval methods are being used.
