Dharmapada Award 2022 for painter Bansidhar Pratihari

Bhubaneswar: Bansidhar Pratihari, an eminent painter from Odisha, will receive the prestigious Dharmapada Award in 2022. The Odisha government's highest award is given to an artist for his or her lifetime contribution to the field of visual art and sculpture.
Pratihari, 94, will receive a cash award of Rs 5 lakh, a citation, and a shawl. The announcement was made on Saturday by the Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi, which is part of the Culture department.
Sculptor Brajabandhu Mishra, palm leaf artist Laxmidhar Subudhi, Pattachitra painter Bhramarbar Naik, painter Ramesh Behera, and stone sculptor Keshab Chandra Maharana will also be honored by the Akademi.
The awards will be presented on February 6.
