The new committee members for the Srimandir in Odisha will be announced soon.

The term of the managing committee of Srimandir is ending in August. On Wednesday, the Law department initiated the process of forming a new panel in accordance with the Shri Jagannath Temple Act, 1955. The department has requested the temple's chief administrator to propose 10 members from various Nijogs who are significantly involved in the 'seva puja' of the Trinity. These members will be considered for selection to the Shri Jagannath Temple managing committee, which is overseen by Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb.

The administrator must ensure that two individuals from the same Nijog are not recommended. A rotation system will be implemented to increase the chances of Nijogs being represented. If the administrator is unable to select the names, a lottery will be conducted. The Law department will ultimately choose the members of the managing committee from the list of names provided.

In addition to the Nijog representations, the state government will recommend two individuals who have made significant contributions to social service for nomination to the managing committee.

The current managing committee was appointed on August 12, 2021.
