The authorities of the Hirakud dam have announced that the season’s first release of floodwater will occur on July 28. The dam’s gates will be opened at 9 am on Sunday as part of the reservoir’s management strategy. According to official sources, the current inflow of water into the Hirakud reservoir stands at 214,993 cusecs, while the outflow is at 35,635 cusecs.
