Release Of Odia Movie "Daman" In Youtube, Producer Team Files A Complaint At Cyber Police Station
Bhubaneswar: The producers of the Odia film 'Daman' have filed a complaint with the cyber police stating that pirated versions of the film were unlawfully published on YouTube channels hours after its theatrical premiere.
They told media persons shortly after filing a complaint at the Cyper police station in Bhubaneswar that the film was shot illegally inside the cinema auditorium after its release and subsequently uploaded on You Tube channels.
The producers are seeking prompt action to shut these channels and pursue legal action, claiming that certain persons did this illegal act to promote themselves, but at the expense of the filmmakers. "We urge them to delete the uploaded versions as soon as possible," they said.
According to estimates, the film has been posted on more than 11 YouTube channels since its premiere in theatres on Friday.
Babushan Mohanty and Dipanwit Dashmohapatra star in the film, which Devi Prasad Lenka and Vishal Mourya direct.
'Daman,' based on true events, stars popular actor Babusan as a doctor in a secluded village of Malkangiri area. The film depicts the doctor's unwavering fight against popular myths and his struggle to educate people about malaria, which is prevalent in the area where he works.
The isolated village's lack of road communication and telecom network makes his task more difficult.
It should be noted that the trailer's teaser was also leaked before it was released on social media in January of this year.
