Online Booking for HSRP of Vehicles Starts on SIAM Portal
Bhubaneswar: On the website of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), http://siam.in, online booking for High Security Registration Plates (HSRPs) in Odisha has begun for numerous companies.
The State Transport Authority (STA) announced that online booking for all companies' cars will be available by the end of June 1.
SIAM India announced on Monday that by the end of June 1, 2022, an online service for booking HSRPs and color-coded stickers for vehicles registered in Odisha will be available on its website.
For all classes of vintage automobiles registered prior to April 1, 2019, the state government has made HSRPs mandatory. Vehicle manufacturers will apply HSRPs to older vehicles through their authorised dealers. Vehicle owners have complete freedom in selecting a dealer, location, and date for the application of HSRPs.
The STA stated in a notification that car owners will have at least three months from the date of the order to remedy HSRP on obsolete vehicles. It has established varied deadlines for automobiles based on their registration number, causing uncertainty among drivers.
Here's how to make an online reservation for HSRPs:
* Go to siam.in and register your name and e-mail address.
* Mention the vehicle type (two-wheeler, three-wheeler, or four-wheeler), as well as the company name.
* The gateway will take you to the vendor/dealer from whom you can obtain it, as well as the location closest to your home.
* Make a payment online and you'll be given a date to come in and fix it.
Three plates will be placed to all vehicles excluding two-wheelers.
The first plate will be attached to the front of the vehicle, the second to the back, and the third to the windshield of the four-wheeler. There will be no third plate for two-wheelers.
The plates will be permanently attached in an irreversible method that will prevent them from being withdrawn without cracking. Vehicle theft will be reduced as a result.
Furthermore, each HSRP will be equipped with a laser code that will be linked to the vehicle database. As a result, if a car is stolen, the number plate can be replaced, but the laser code cannot.
