Sundargarh: On Tuesday, the body of a 35-year-old lady was retrieved under suspicious circumstances from a closed residence in Talsara, Odisha's Sundargarh district, amid suspicions that she was murdered by her husband.
The dead, identified as Pramila Soreng of Ghutupada in the district's Subdega block, is accused of being strangled to death by her husband Ali. The dad, who escaped with his son, allegedly accused his wife of having an extramarital affair.
However, the precise cause of death has yet to be determined.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Pramila, her husband, and their seven-year-old son were living in a leased property in Ghutupada. Ali worked in Subdega for a private corporation.
Locals say he had a confrontation with his wife on September 16, suspecting her of having an illicit affair.
Because the residence emitted a terrible odor and the door was locked, neighbors suspected foul play and notified the police, who arrived at the scene with the tehsildar and a scientific team and forced open the door.
The woman's body was removed from the house and sent for autopsy. According to sources, Ali fled the scene with his son after committing the crime.
A case has been opened, and further investigation is underway. Attempts are being made to locate the husband of a deceased woman.
