The Subhadra Shakti Mela was inaugurated in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, showcasing the entrepreneurial prowess of women from Odisha, particularly those from rural areas, through Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The event was officiated by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Janata Maidan.

He noted that the event reflects the talents, skills, and entrepreneurial spirit of thousands of homemakers who have transformed into frontline business leaders through the diverse products they have developed.

The nine-day Subhadra Shakti Mela features over 700 Self-Help Groups displaying more than 2,000 products across 300 stalls. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who also attended the event, described the fair as a symbol of women’s empowerment and prosperity.

Among the attendees were Ekamra MLA Babu Singh, Mission Shakti Commissioner-cum-Secretary Shalini Pandit, and Mission Shakti Director Monica Priyadarshini. Thousands of visitors enjoyed browsing and purchasing handicrafts, Khadi, household goods, spices, and soft toys at the grand expo.
