Vigilance Blitz Against Six Officials in Odisha Land Scam

Bhubaneswar: On Monday, vigilance teams raided nine locations in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Bhadrak, and Jagatsinghpur in connection with the illegal settlement of valuable government land in the Vasundhara project in the favour of ineligible beneficiaries.
Raids were carried out on the homes of six officials. Former Kujang tehsildar Ramesh Chandra Panda, retired OAS official and former Jagatsinghpur Sub-Collector Mahendra Prasad Mohanty, former Revenue Inspector (Jhimani, RI Circle) Santosh Kumar Mallick, former Revenue Inspector (Paradeep) Narendra Kumar Lenka, former Revenue Inspector (Kujang) Subash Chandra Das, and former Revenue Inspector (Pandua Circle) Jyoti Bhusan Barik.
Criminal misconduct, misappropriation, forgery, and criminal conspiracy were among the charges levelled against the defendants.
One more SP, 11 DSPs, and 6 inspectors from the Vigilance department made up the nine raiding teams.
