Chaos erupted in the J&K Assembly when Engineer Rashid's brother displayed a banner regarding Article 370, resulting in clashes between the BJP and the NC.

The ongoing five-day Assembly session in Jammu and Kashmir witnessed chaotic scenes on Thursday when MP Engineer Rashid’s brother and legislator, Sheikh Khursheed, approached the Well of the House holding a banner that demanded the restoration of Article 370 and the release of all political prisoners. The banner read: "We demand the restoration of Article 370 and 35A. Release of political prisoners."

Soon after, a scuffle broke out between the BJP MLAs and the National Conference (NC) MLAs, as the former attempted to take the banner away from Khursheed. As the disturbance continued in the Well, Sajad Lone, Waheed Para, and several other NC members joined in support of Khursheed.

As a result, the BJP legislators were ultimately removed from the Assembly by marshals. This incident followed a resolution passed the previous day regarding Jammu and Kashmir's special status, which called for a "dialogue" with the elected representatives of the Union Territory to discuss the restoration of these provisions and to establish constitutional mechanisms for ensuring them. The BJP MLAs had also caused a disruption in the Well of the House on Wednesday during the movement of the resolution.
