Berhampur: In Ganjam district, a police constable was nabbed for running a bogus liquor manufacturing operation.

When Bada Bazaar police in the city examined an auto-rickshaw on a tip-off late Friday night, they discovered the bogus liquor unit near Langaldei Hanuman Nagar under Dipahandi police station. During the vehicle's inspection, a substantial amount of counterfeit liquor packaged in bottles of well-known brands was discovered.

During questioning, auto-rickshaw driver Ranoj Das revealed that he was transporting fake booze from a manufacturing business controlled by Reserve Police bomb squad policeman Chinimini Barik.

Following this, authorities raided the liquor manufacturing facility and seized approximately 400 bottles of counterfeit India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from well-known brands, as well as a huge number of empty bottles, two litres of spirit, and 60 liquor label labels.

On Saturday, police detained constable Barik, Ranoj, and Babu Sahu, an employee of the bogus liquor manufacturing unit.
