Odisha girl "sold" for Rs 3 lakh, "sexually exploited" in Madhya Pradesh

Boudh: After being sold for Rs 3 lakh in Madhya Pradesh, a young girl student from Odisha's Boudh district is said to have been sexually exploited for three months.
According to sources, a girl from a village inside the Manamunda police boundaries of the district graduated from a polytechnic in Sonepur and moved to Jharsuguda in May to look for employment. She met Ganesh Kumbhar of Khaliapali village, which is under the same police station, during her time in Jharsuguda. Due to the proximity of her hamlet to Khaliapali, she had already known Ganesh.
Once he had the girl's trust, Ganesh took her to Guna town in Madhya Pradesh and instructed her to go to one of his relatives' homes. Without the girl's knowledge, he sold her there to a man named Jaswant Singh and left.
The girl was imprisoned by Jaswant and instructed to wed his brother Akash Singh. Jaswant threatened to shoot her if she didn't consent, but she refused. The girl was prohibited from leaving the house, but Akash continued to rape her while holding a gun to her head for three months.
But the girl was able to escape from prison by taking advantage of the two brothers' absence, and she returned home a few days ago. She has reported this to the police at Manamunda police station. She has asked the police to get her certifications, ATM card, and other documents from Jaswant's home.
In response to the complaint, Ganesh has been detained by the police, who will take him to court on Wednesday.
