Baripada: An argument over property allegedly led to a youth shooting his father dead in a village in the Mayurbhanj region of Odisha, according to reports on Wednesday.
The event happened on Tuesday night in Kashikundal village, which is under the control of Udala police station in the district. After reportedly killing his father Tilu Naik, the suspect, Kailash Naik, escaped, according to sources.
The two got into a verbal fight over concerns about property. The young man pulled out a gun that was made in his nation, shot at his father, killing him, and the fight grew violent.
Upon learning of the incident, a team of Udala police officers sped to the scene and grabbed the body, which was then taken for a post-mortem. It was also taken the primitive gun that was used in the crime.
They stated that an investigation into the event was ongoing and that there were efforts being made to find the accused, who was on the run.
