Angul: Nine members of an interstate job ring have been detained in this city on charges of defrauding over 1,000 pupils.

The offenders were detained after a FIR was filed at the Colliery Police Station in this town. Police have also confiscated 28 bank accounts, Rs 10.5 lakh in cash and gold jewellery weighing roughly 757.1 gramme worth Rs 1.33 crore from a bank account in Durgapur (West Bengal) (West Bengal).

Other people linked to the inter-state fraud are being sought.
