For entering Odisha, a COVID test report/vaccination certificate is no longer required
Bhubaneswar: The required RT-PCR negative report/final vaccination certificate requirement for visitors to Odisha has been withdrawn by the state government.
These conditions have been removed, according to the Special Relief Commissioner's office.
“Orders regarding stipulations/ restrictions as per Clause-A vide Order No. 2980/ (R & DM) dt. 30.05.2021 (i.e. entry of people into Odisha from other States by producing Rapid Antigen Test/ RT PCR negative Report/ final vaccination certificate etc.) is hereby withdrawn,” the notification said.
While the SRC's Tuesday notification stated that the restrictions would take effect on May 30, the government began strictly enforcing them on April 12 by refusing to allow anyone to enter the state without a COVID-19 negative report that was less than 72 hours old or a final vaccination certificate.
The rule applied to all kinds of transportation, including rail, bus, plane, river, and private automobiles.
Those who did not have RT-PCR negative reports were required to provide their information and undertake a seven-day mandatory quarantine. At the airport, on-the-spot testing was also done on people who had flu symptoms.
The state had also sealed its border with Chhattisgarh and put up checkpoints on the borders with West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Andhra Pradesh in response to an increase in COVID instances.
