INS Chilka has graduated 2,929 Indian Navy and Coast Guard trainees

Berhampur: On Friday, another group of students graduated from INS Chilka.

Lt Gen Satinder Singh AVSM, Commandant, Army Air Defence College, Gopalpur, reviewed the ceremonial Passing Out Parade of 2,929 Indian Navy and Coast Guard trainees of the 02/2021 batch.

The passing out parade commemorated the successful completion of their ab-initio training, which lasted 21 weeks.

On the occasion, Lt Gen Satinder Singh also presented medals and prizes to deserving trainees. He urged the graduating trainees to hone their abilities and build a strong foundation of knowledge, as well as a passion to learn and a resolve to thrive in their future employment.

The outstanding trainees in their respective categories were Lunawath Praveen, Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR), Vikash Kumar Soni, Matric Recruit (MR) from the Indian Navy, and Arun Talan, Navik (General Duty) and Sachin, Navik (Domestic Branch) from the Coast Guard.

On January 29, a valedictory celebration was conducted, during which a cultural programme showcasing the trainees' talents was presented.

Commodore NP Pradeep, NOIC Odisha and Commanding Officer, INS Chilka, and Bindu Pradeep, President NWWA, Chilka, also released the winter edition of Ankur, the multilingual trainees' magazine of INS Chilka, during the ceremony.

During the ceremony, Shivaji Division was bestowed with the Champion Division Shield.
