GST Raid Conducted at Jewellery Shops In Odisha

Nuapada: The State Goods and Services Tax Commission (SGST) teams started simultaneous raids on two of the most important jewellery shops in Nuapada District village of Khariar on Monday.
As reported, GST Department staff led by Nuapada GST Unit Deputy Commissar Priyabrata Gadtia had attacked two gold jewellery stores in Khariar belonging to Govind Agrawal and Umesh Agrawal.
Gadtia described the alleged mode of tax avoidance, saying that the two gold traders had transacted the business between July 2017 and 2021 without paying GST, and that numerous documentation had been confiscated during the inspections.
He noted that the inquiry is underway.
