Balangir: On Friday, a first-year MBBS student at Bhima Bhoi Medical College in Balangir, Odisha, died after falling off the hostel roof.
Nishant Kumar, a Haryana resident, has been identified as the perpetrator. He had just started medical school a month before and was living in the New Boys dormitory.
Kumar walked to the terrace after lunch, according to sources. After falling off the roof, he suffered grave injuries and was sent to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Though the exact circumstances surrounding Nishant's fall from the terrace are unknown, it is believed that he committed himself by falling off the roof.
Meanwhile, police have arrived on the scene and are investigating the incident.
