Bhadrak: On Wednesday night, at least five to six bike-borne miscreants robbed a chemist shop at gunpoint in RD Square in Aradi, Odisha's Bhadrak district.

The gang allegedly barged inside Manavjyoti Medical Store and fired at the chemist, but missed the target, according to sources. However, it was enough to send other business owners and passers-by into a panic.

They then fled with Rs 20,000 in cash as well as three cellphones.

"About five or six miscreants were present." Around 10 p.m., they arrived on two motorcycles at my shop and demanded money and cell phones. They fired at my leg when I refused. Thankfully, the bullet missed me. "They stole the cash and cellphones and escaped to Bhadrak town," the shopkeeper explained.

IIC Alok Jena of the Bhadrak Rural Police Station arrived on the scene and began an inquiry. According to the sources, CCTV footage is being examined in order to track down the criminals.
