‘Ganesh Puja in Bhubaneswar should not include DJ music, distorted images, or forcible donation collection.’
"The committee that is worshiping a distorted image of Lord Ganesh will face consequences. The police have also warned that strict action will be taken against anyone forcibly collecting donations. Puja committees have been advised to refrain from using liquor and other intoxicants during the puja celebration."
The Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar has banned the use of DJ music during the celebration of Ganesh Puja this year to control noise pollution. DCP Prateek Singh announced this decision on Sunday after a coordination committee meeting between the Commissionerate Police and all the puja committees of the capital city. The Ganesh Puja will be held on September 7, and the immersion procession of the idols will take place on September 8, 11, and 12. DCP Singh stated that DJ music is prohibited during the immersion procession, but the puja committees can use traditional bands. The police will take action against any committee using distorted images of Lord Ganesh and warned against forced donation collection. The puja committees have also been advised to avoid using liquor and other intoxicants during the celebrations. DCP Prateek Singh emphasized that the committees must obtain prior permission and conduct the immersion procession in their locality, without affecting traffic on the main roads of the capital city.
