The Odisha government has appointed Y.B. Khurania, a senior IPS officer, as the new Director General of Police (DGP), according to an official notification released on Friday. Khurania, who belongs to the 1990 batch, will take over the position from A.K. Sarangi. He has recently returned to Odisha after completing a central deputation. Throughout his career, he has held various significant posts within the state, including serving as the SP of Nayagarh, Jajpur, Rourkela, Mayurbhanj, and Ganjam districts. Additionally, Khurania has previously served as the commissioner of police, Commissionerate of Police (Bhubaneswar-Cuttack).
