Puri: According to reports published on Sunday, the district government of Puri in the Indian state of Odisha's official Twitter account has been restored.
Samarth Verma, the Puri district collector, instructed the IT unit to look into the situation after it was discovered that the account had been hacked on Saturday. Additionally, steps were taken to ensure a speedy restoration, according to sources.
The Twitter account was thought to have been compromised by Chinese hackers, though a comprehensive investigation is ongoing.
The issue was discovered, according to reports, on Saturday afternoon when a district collectorate official attempted to post anything on the Twitter account @Puri Official. When the Twitter account was clicked, Yin Yang Gang was visible with a blue tick.
The hacker retweeted a number of official tweets that were posted in the handle after taking over the account. Additionally, some cartoon images were uploaded to the Twitter account.
The sources claimed that Verma instructed the IT cell to look into the situation after the authorities made repeated attempts to stop the hacking but were unsuccessful.
