+2 student electrocuted in Odisha’s Kendrapada

Kendrapada: Late on Tuesday, an 11kv wire at a coaching facility in the Marshaghai neighbourhood of Odisha's Kendrapada district caused the death of a Plus-II student who had come into contact with it.

Debi Prasad Dash, 16, a resident of Gopinathpur village in Badakula panchayat of Mahakalapada block, has been identified as the suspect. According to authorities, the event also resulted in minor injuries to five additional kids.

Dash formerly called the coaching facility home. The tragedy happened as the kids were working on the center's balcony. Das was pronounced dead by the attending physicians after they were taken to a nearby hospital. The other students are presently receiving medical attention.

"Around 11.10 p.m., the youngster was on the coaching center's balcony when he unintentionally touched an 11kv wire. In this regard, the deceased's family members have filed a written complaint. According to IIC Jyoti Ranjan Samantaray of Marshaghai police station, the proprietor of the tutoring centre is being questioned.
