Dominos announces free pizza for olympic medalist Mirabai Chanu

New Delhi: Mirabai Chanu has begun to get accolades and incentives following her silver medal performance at the Tokyo Olympics on Saturday.

N Biren Singh, the Chief Minister of Manipur, lost no time in awarding a Rs 1 million cash prize to the first Indian to win a silver medal in weightlifting. There will undoubtedly be more such announcements in the future.

But there were other interesting rewards too.

Domino’s India announced they will offer Mirabai lifetime free pizza.

“@Mirabai_chanu Congratulations on bringing the medal home! You brought the dreams of a billion+ Indians to life and we couldn’t be happier to treat you to FREE Domino’s pizza for life. Congratulations again!” Domino’s tweeted.

In one of her post-silver-winning performance interviews, Mirabai expressed her desire for pizza.

“First and foremost, I'm going to have a pizza. I haven't eaten it in a long time. Mirabai had said, "I'm going to eat a lot today."

Someone at Domino's must have caught wind of the interview and informed his superiors. The organisation reacted quickly and came up with this fantastic offer.

At Amar Kothi in Udaipur, hotelier Prithvi Raj Chauhan offered another lifelong offer for Mirabai.

“@mirabai_chanu Congratulations on Bringing the medal home. We are not as big #DominosPizza But @amarkothi (insta) we are great full to announce anytime you visit #udaipur your stay in our hotel is free for life time. @my_rajasthan  #Tokyo2020 @TajHotels,” Chauhan tweeted.
