Bhubaneswar: On Monday, the night temperature in seven locations in Odisha dropped below 15 degrees Celsius.

For the third day in a row, Daringbadi was the coldest place in the state, with an average temperature of 11 degrees Celsius, followed by Phulbani (12.2), Titlagarh and Keonjhar (13.8 degrees Celsius), Koraput (14), Jharsuguda (14.6), and Bhawanipatna (14.9).

On the preceding two days, the lowest temperature in Darinbadi had dropped to 9.5 degrees Celsius and 10 degrees Celsius.

Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the twin cities, saw temperatures of 17.4 and 17.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had previously said that there would be no significant change in minimum temperature, which will stay 2 to 3 degrees below average for the next 2 to 3 days before rising slightly.

“Existing frigid conditions in Odisha may persist till November 10 due to the effect of cold dry winds from the northwest and north, although night temperatures may gradually climb beginning Tuesday. Between November 10 afternoon and November 19, the state may have cloudy skies, but chilly conditions are likely due to low day temperatures and sensible heat," the Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC), SOA Deemed to be University, stated on Monday.
