Government issued a warning to parents about the spread of COVID among children

Bhubaneswar: With COVID-19 spreading among youngsters and immunisation for the disease still to begin in the state, the Health Department on Tuesday urged parents to seek medical advice if their children exhibit symptoms.

“Parents should take their children to the hospital if their children develop symptoms such as a cold, cough, or fever. Instead of concealing their illnesses, individuals should seek medical advice, according to CBK Mohanty, Director, Medical Education & Training (DMET).

Mohanty stated that the children's immunisation shots are not suited for COVID and that parents should be informed of this.

“If the COVID situation worsens, children's education will be impacted even more since the government would be obliged to close schools,” he stated.

In the previous 24 hours, 93 youngsters aged 0 to 18 years have been infected with the COVID virus. On Monday, the figure was 122.

Between August 10 and August 31, the second wave of the pandemic took the lives of 39 children and adolescents throughout the state, with 13 deaths reported.
