Bhubaneswar: While the cyclonic circulation over coastal Odisha and its surroundings has diminished, heavy rain is expected in four districts of the state on Tuesday, according to the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre.

Between 8.30 a.m. Tuesday and 8.30 a.m. Wednesday, heavy rain is expected in one or two spots in the Keonjhar, Jajpur, Cuttack, and Dhenkanal districts, according to the MeT office's mid-day bulletin.

Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds of 40-50 kmph have been issued for one or two locations in North coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, and Dhenkanal, while thunderstorms with lightning are likely in one or two locations over the rest of North Odisha, South coastal Odisha, and Kandhamal districts.

Several locations in North and South coastal Odisha, as well as a few locations in South Interior Odisha, are expected to see light to moderate rain during this time.

Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, and Koraput are all under a yellow alert for thunderstorms with lightning for the next 24 hours.

From 8.30 a.m. on Wednesday until 8.30 a.m. on Thursday, light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are possible in coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, and Koraput, as well as one or two spots in the rest of the state.

Rainfall will continue until 8.30 a.m. on Saturday, according to the IMD.

Thunderstorms with lightning are expected in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, and Cuttack over the next 24 hours. A few regions in North Odisha and one or two spots in South Odisha may see light to moderate rain.

After three days, Odisha is projected to see a modest uptick in temperature, according to the forecast.
