IED Unearthed During checking In Odisha’s Koraput Forest

Koraput: On Tuesday, the BSF's 151 battalion's combing party. During a recce check between Mantriam and Govindpalli in the Koraput sector, the crews discovered an IED near NH 326.
During a scan, the teams discovered some strange alterations, and digging at two locations revealed that RSO had taken up residence. With the support of explosive dogs and mine detectors, the combing party secured and searched the area. After an explosive dog and a mine detector confirmed the presence of an IED, the unit BD team was dispatched to take action.
According to sources, the BD team confirmed an IED at one location and suspected a dummy at a second location. The BD crew took all precautions and demolished the IED in situ at about 10.40 a.m.
