Odisha govt to recruit over 11,000 teachers by 2022
Bhubaneswar: Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash announced that the government will remodel primary schools in the second phase, a day after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik dedicated 490 additional high schools transformed under the 5T project in 5 districts.
In a press conference on Tuesday, Dash said that following the first phase of high school reform, 8,000 government-run primary schools will be refurbished.
The government is working hard to improve education standards, and as part of the project, 8,000 high schools have been chosen to be altered in the first phase, he said. In the first phase, a total of 5,000 high schools will be changed out of the 8,000.
On June 10, a special celebration would be conducted in Jajpur to kick off the second phase of high school renovations, he noted.
Apart from that, he noted, teacher recruitment would be carried out in order to preserve the teacher-to-student ratio. By the end of June, the government will have hired 11,000 high school teachers, who will be presented offer letters in the presence of the Chief Minister.
According to the Minister, who was re-inducted in Naveen's Cabinet after the recent reshuffle, Adarsha Vidyalays will also get a makeover shortly.
On Monday, Naveen inaugurated 95 converted high schools in the districts of Kendrapada, Cuttack, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda, and Bargarh. A total of 2,908 high schools have been changed and are being inaugurated in phases in the second phase.
Minister Naba Kishore Das, MLAs Dhruba Charan Sahu and Devi Prasad Mishra, Kalahandi Zilla Parishad president Pushpendra Singhdeo, and MLA Debesh Acharya were among those who spoke at the event.
VK Pandian, Secretary to the Chief Minister (5T), was in charge of organising the event. Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra and senior officials from other departments were among those in attendance.
