Female officer in anti-naxal operations inspires young women to join the military
Koraput: The Border Security Force (BSF) 68 Battalion held an outreach event at SSD Government Girls High School in Nilabari, Bandhugaon block, Koraput district.
During the outreach event, BSF Assistant Commandant Amandeep Kaur, the first woman officer in the Anti-Naxal Operations (ANO) theatre, engaged with the girls.
The importance of education and job prospects in the Armed Forces was emphasised by Assistant Commandant Kaur. She encouraged the girls to seek a career in security forces to serve the nation, speaking about the importance of women in operational responsibilities in the ANO and on the international border. The applicants would receive pre-recruitment training, according to Assistant Commandant Kaur.
About 75 female pupils and 23 teachers from the school were also educated on the BSF's recruitment process for women, as well as their pay, benefits, and nature of service. Visuals of 'Seema Bhawani' were also displayed to the students (Mahila Motor Cycle team of the BSF).
The event was directed by Madan Lal, DIG Koraput, and Yoginder Agarwal, Commandant, 68 Battalion of the BSF.
For more than a decade, the Border Security Force (BSF) has worked to improve the lives of residents in the Koraput and Malkangiri areas.
