Bhubaneswar: In the early hours of Friday, a heavy fog covered Odisha's twin cities, reducing visibility to as little as 20-30 meters.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhubaneswar had the highest density of fog.

Air traffic at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) was disrupted due to low visibility, and the arrival of Air Asia flights from Kolkata and IndiGo flights from Kolkata and Delhi to Bhubaneswar was delayed.

Meanwhile, IndiGo flights from Bhubaneswar airport to Kolkata, Mumbai, and Delhi were also delayed.

For the next two days, a dense fog warning has been issued for many areas.

Day 1 (valid from 8.30 am January 13 up to 8.30 am January 14):

Dense fog is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh and Kandhamal.

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Day 2 (valid from 8.30 am January 14 up to 8.30 am January 15):

Dense fog is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Sonepur, Bolangir, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Balangir, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal.
