New Delhi: In India, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has created a vegan logo for food goods.

The design is similar to the present logo for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food goods (which includes a dot in the middle of a square).

“Previously, we had logos for both vegetarian (green dot) and non-vegetarian (red dot) items (brown dot). Veganism is becoming increasingly popular. As a result, we've created a vegan logo,” FSSAI CEO Arun Singhal explained.

Kruti Manish Rathore, who is studying her Masters in Food Science and Nutrition at Mount Caramel College in Bangalore, designed the new logo.
