Inter-State Fake Job Racket Busted by Odisha Police, 9 held
Angul: Nine people have been arrested in Odisha's Angul district as part of an inter-state job racket.
On Wednesday, the primary suspect was apprehended in West Bengal. Chaitali Mukherjee of Rourkela and her husband Margang Gupta of Uttar Pradesh have been recognised. They'd been on the run for quite some time.
According to police sources, in February, a man named Pranabandhu Jena from Benagadia village filed a written complaint with Talcher police station about a work scam. He said that Ghanashyam Mishra of Similipada defrauded him of Rs 4.5 lakh in exchange for a job for his kid at a Tata company.
Ghanashyam and his son Shovan had been arrested in Jharkhand based on the complaint.
Five more people were arrested as a result of the inquiry, and the two major culprits were later apprehended.
They were organising false interviews and workshops in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, Maharashtra, and West Bengal, in addition to Odisha.
“They were also passing out phoney appointment letters. They have collected Rs 2 crore from 50 Angul youths. Six cases have been filed in this regard, according to Angul SP Jagmohan Meena.
According to the SP, they were in possession of over 20 cellphones, a vehicle, phoney appointment letters, and a fake Tata Company seal.
