Live pangolin seized in Khordha, 2 arrested

Khurda: On Friday, two wildlife smuggers from Gurujanga-Pitapalli route in the district of Khurda were detained by the Crime Branch Special Task Force (STF).

The defendants were Kailash Khosala, district of Kalahandi, and Chaitanya Bhatra, district of Nabarangpur.

The STF rushed to the tip and rescued the animal by raiding a site along Gurujanga-Pitapalli Road. The STF has also confiscated one automobile and other damning evidence.

They were detained and sent to the court, the police said.

It may be pointed out that during the last year, specific efforts have been made to fight wildlife offenders. 16 leopard skin, nine electron tusks, two wicks, five live pangolins and a 15 kg scale have been confiscated by the STF. In this context, the STF has also detained 35 wildlife offenders.
