Odisha Govt announces Rs 6 crore cash reward for Pramod Bhagat

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government announced on Wednesday that ace para shuttler Pramod Bhagat, who earned a gold medal in the recently ended Paralympics in Tokyo, will receive a financial reward of Rs 6 crore.

Aside from that, the government has offered him a Group-A government post.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had previously stated that the state government would offer Rs 6 crore to gold medalists at the Tokyo Paralympics.

On September 4, Bhagat won the gold medal in the men's singles SL3 event, defeating Daniel Bethell of Great Britain 21-14, 21-17.
