Odisha poll body relaxes restrictions on rural election campaign

Bhubaneswar: For Panchayat Elections, the State Election Commission (SEC) has eased COVID limitations.
Check out the updated rules:
1. Instead of 5, a door-to-door campaign with 20 people, including the candidate, is permitted.
2. Political parties/contesting candidates can have public meetings with a maximum of 300 people in open ground with the permission of the appropriate authority and strict adherence to COVID guidelines - mandatory face mask wear and social distancing.
Between February 16 and 24, Panchayat elections will be place in five rounds. The votes will be counted on February 26, 27, and 28.
