SEC Releases List Of Election Symbols For Odisha Panchayat Polls

Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission (SEC) announced the list of election symbols on Thursday, ahead of the announcement of dates for the three-tier panchayat polls.

15 ward members, 32 sarpanches, 19 panchayat samiti members, and 19 independent Zilla Parishad members are among the 66 insignia granted by the Commission.

Except for Zilla Parishad, candidates will be chosen from among these emblems in the election.

Candidates nominated by several political parties will compete for seats in the Zilla Parishad under their respective party's symbol.

Meanwhile, the Commission has declared that election preparations are nearing completion. The printing of ballot papers is currently underway in the government press, according to the statement.
