Sachin Behera of Odisha sets a new Guinness World Record
Bhubaneswar: Sachin Behera of Odisha has achieved a new Guinness World Mark by completing 204 knee strikes in three minutes with a 5-kg ankle weight, shattering the previous record set by Pakistani boxer Muhammad Rashid.
Sachin (21), from Lakra village in Nuapada district, established the new mark on Sunday at an event held on the grounds of the Buddha Temple at Unit-9 in Odisha's capital.
Rashid held the previous record, clocking 178 knee-strikes in three minutes using a 5-kg ankle weight on June 21, 2020.
Sachin is currently a physiotherapy intern at Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
He set a Guinness World Record of 137 knee-strikes in a minute in 2019.
He's also a sprinter who wants to compete in the Olympics in the 100-meter dash.
