Cuttack: According to Jagatsinghpur SDPO Ramesh Singh, a case has been registered against BJD MLA from Tirtol Bijaya Shankar Das at Jagatsinghpur police station on the basis of a complaint lodged by his fiancee Somalika Dash.
This was in response to an Orissa High Court directive directing the petitioner to file a new complaint with the IIC of the police station, along with a copy of this order.
Somalika had petitioned the High Court, alleging that the Jagatsinghpur IIC refused to register a case based on a complaint filed on May 13, 2022, and that the SP took no action in response to this police inaction.
Somalika approached Jagatsinghpur IIC with the High Court's order in hand and filed a written complaint. "Previously, I approached the SP in this regard, but in vain, so I had to seek court intervention," Somalika explained.
