Two Dreaded Criminals Injured In Police Encounter In Rourkela

Rourkela: In a police meeting near Bisra Munda Chhak in Odisha's Sundargarh district, two wanted criminals were severely hurt during the beginning of Thursday.

The wounded offenders Mushtaq Alam and MD Guddu were recognised. They reportedly participated in the assassination on 11 September 2020 of one Jitendra Sai at Rourkela.

Sources indicate that a special squad of Rourkela police arrived on a halt in the Bisra region and sought to snub the crooks when they were opened on fire by the latter. Self-defense retaliation by the police and leg injuries to the offenders.

The meeting was at around 4.40 am.

The two accused were initially transported to the State Hospital of Rourkela and subsequently sent in serious condition to the General Hospital of Ispat.

Six suspects had been detained previously by the police, while many others are still in hiding.
