Urdu Secondary Training School should be reopened: State President Of NSUI

Cuttack: The Naveen Patnaik  government has decided to permanently close the Urdu Secondary Training School situated in Cuttack.

According to the information, the Urdu Secondary Training School helps students to get a training for primary teacher in Urdu. After passing the exams, the students get Urdu city certificates and are hired as primary teachers. But since last year, students are not able to take admission.

It should be noted that, the Odisha government has joined hands with the BJP government at the Center to shut down all Muslim government institutions in Odisha. Many Urdu-speaking Muslim students have been employed by Urdu City Training School as Urdu teachers. The closure of the institution will only harm the Muslim students in the state.

Syed Yashir Nawaz, State president of Congress' student wing, National Students' Union of India (NSUI) in Odisha has brought light on the whole matter.

He said, "Odisha government is plotting to shut down Odisha's oldest 110-year-old Urdu Secondary City Training School, which the Student Congress Committee will never tolerate. We are not going to sit silent and will stage a major agitation in the coming days if the government do not reopens the institution".

We will fight the government decision for the rights of the people and for the betterment of the community, stated Yashir.
