Woman candidate consumes poison, as her husband hangs himself in Bhadrak

Bhadrak: According to authorities, the husband of a woman candidate who ran for Panchayat Samiti member but lost took his own life on Monday.
Ramakant Parida was recognised as the dead. He was unhappy, according to sources, since his wife Sumati Parida lost in the polls.
Sumati reportedly drank poison during an argument on Monday and was brought to the hospital. According to sources, a distraught Ramakant hanged himself at his home shortly after.
He was transported to the hospital, where physicians pronounced him dead. Sumati was referred to Cuttack's SCB Medical College and Hospital.
The police have started their investigation.
