A drunk driver crashed their car into a traffic post in Bhubaneswar, leaving two people critically injured.

In a recent incident of reckless and intoxicated driving, a car crashed into a traffic post at Damana Square in Bhubaneswar late on Monday night. The collision caused significant damage to the traffic post, and both the driver and a female passenger in the vehicle sustained severe injuries.
Upon receiving the news, the Chandrasekharpur police arrived at the scene and transported the injured individuals to the hospital, where they were reported to be in critical condition. The vehicle involved in the accident has been seized.
According to reports, the car was traveling at high speed from Kelucharan Park when it struck the traffic post at Damana Square. After hitting the post, the car collided with the divider and then crashed into a pole.
Eyewitnesses stated that both the driver and the female passenger appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was reportedly speeding and lost control, which led to the accident.
However, there has been no official response from the police regarding the incident. Local residents expressed concerns that many drivers are engaging in drunk and reckless driving, as the administration seems to have become complacent and has stopped conducting breath tests to check for intoxicated drivers in the capital city.
