Brown sugar worth ₹30 lakh was seized in Bhubaneswar, and three individuals have been arrested.

The Excise Department arrested three drug peddlers and seized over 300 grams of brown sugar during an operation in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Excise Department officials conducted a raid in the Kalpana Square area of the city. They caught the three suspects while they were attempting to sell the contraband. Sources indicate that approximately 300 grams of brown sugar was seized, along with a two-wheeler associated with the transaction. The estimated value of the seized brown sugar is around Rs 30 lakh.
Two of the arrested individuals, who are from the Jatani area in Khurda district, are known habitual offenders with previous jail sentences for brown sugar smuggling. The Excise Department is interrogating the three suspects to gather information about their smuggling network. Further investigation is ongoing, according to the sources.
