"Delhi Cop Asks Speeding Car to Slow Down, Gets Dragged to Death"

In a tragic case of road rage in Delhi, a 30-year-old police constable died from head injuries after a car dragged him along the road in the Nangloi area late last night.

The constable, Sandeep, was in plain clothes and on patrolling duty. He was riding his bike when a WagonR car attempted to overtake him. The car was being driven recklessly, and the constable signaled the driver to slow down. Suddenly, the car's speed increased, hitting Sandeep's bike from behind. The motorcycle and the constable were dragged for about 10 meters. Sandeep was taken to a nearby hospital and then referred to another hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The incident was captured by a CCTV camera in the area, showing the constable gesturing to the car driver to slow down before being hit.

According to the police, the car had two occupants who fled the scene after abandoning the car. The authorities have seized the vehicle and are searching for the suspects. A murder case has been registered in connection with the incident.

Sandeep is survived by his mother, wife, and a five-year-old son.

While some sources have alleged that one of the car's occupants was involved in the illegal liquor trade, the police have not confirmed this.

Senior police officer Jimmy Chiram stated that Sandeep was on patrolling duty when a WagonR attempted to cross him at high speed. There was apparently a verbal exchange between him and the driver. When Sandeep rode on, the vehicle accelerated and hit his bike from behind, causing him to be dragged for about 10 meters and hit another vehicle, resulting in serious head injuries. The senior officer indicated that it appears to be a case of road rage. When asked if the police have identified the accused, the officer said, "We are looking for them. Once we have confirmation, we will let you know."

There has been a concerning increase in road rage cases in the national capital region. Altercations over road accidents have led to serious injuries and even death in many of these cases. Last month, a 32-year-old auto-rickshaw driver was seriously assaulted after his three-wheeler brushed against a car in Faridabad, resulting in his death. In July, a road rage incident led to a man opening fire at a couple and two children on a bike, resulting in the death of a 30-year-old woman.
