Bhubaneswar: Banamali Parida, Additional Tehsildar of Gania Tehsil in Nayagarh district, was apprehended by Odisha vigilance sleuths for allegedly demanding and accepting a Rs 13,000 bribe.
According to sources, he allegedly demanded illegal gratification for his seized sand-laden truck on July 24 and received the first instalment of Rs 10,000. He was apprehended by a Vigilance team while accepting the remaining amount.
According to the sources, a case has been registered at the Bhubaneswar Vigilance police station under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act 2018, and further investigation is underway.
